East Sheen, SW14

East Sheen, also known a 'Sheen' is a green and leafy suburb of London, England in the London Borough of Richmond upon Thames. It forms part of the London post town in the SW postcode area. Because of its proximity to Central London, its well served transport links and schools and its position next to the large expanse that is Richmond Park, East Sheen is a very popular area and house prices are high.

The main high street is the Upper Richmond Road. Central to the area is a small square with a war memorial, and an old mile stone. There are a number of parks and open spaces in the area including Richmond Park, accessed via Sheen Gate; Palewell Common, which has a playground, playing fields, a polo field, tennis courts and a pitch and putt course; and East Sheen Common.

East Sheen is a green and leafy mainly residential area, with its main high street being the Upper Richmond Road, which contains many high street shops and facilities. The proximity to Sheen Gate of the vast Richmond Park means that houses in 'parkside' East Sheen are much in demand, and thus very expensive. Other facilities include Palewell Common, which has a playground, playing fields and a pitch and putt course, and East Sheen Common - a separate wooded area adjoining the park. There are a number of local schools, most centrally being Shene School.
